Today we made some fitness videos in our Science lesson! We have some very cool moves so why don’t you have a look and see if you can keep up with us? We tried to make each of our routines meet the four criteria we learnt about in last week’s lesson. They certainly made us feel good!

Toucans school councillors elected

Today we elected the school councillors for our class. We talked about what is happening in Scotland with the referendum and then went through a similar process. Those of us who wanted to be the school councillors came to the front of the class and gave a little speech about why they should be chosen. Millie said ‘I am a good listener and I always work hard’ while Osama promised to ‘Always try my best and be good at meetings’.
After the speeches we all had two votes; we chose one by and one girl. We gave the votes folded up to Miss Williams and she then (with the help of Salma!) gave them out to each potential school councillor. When we had finished we found that we had two very popular new school councillors: Christos and Cara. We were very pleased for them but also congratulated Osama, Daisy and Shayla for being good sports. We know Christos and Cara will do a fabulous job for us! Well done.
Healthy food and exercise
This term we are learning all about things that keep us healthy, including food and exercise. In our Science lesson we started to think about the 4 reasons we do exercise:
1 – to keep our hearts healthy
2 – to strengthen our muscles
3 – to help keep us flexible
4 – to make us feel good
We took part in some activities and thought about which of these things the activity helped us with. We had lots of fun and worked out that all the exercises we did made us feel good.
Gymnastics in PE
Wonderful display!
Here are some photos of our wonderful display! I am sure you will agree, the children make good chefs.
Bell’s Farm Doctor’s Surgery opened today with the Blue group being the first to role-play. There were some rather nasty injuries but Dr Romarni and Dr Nicholas soon made sure the patients made a good recovery!
Welcome back!
Welcome to Year Two’s very first blog. We have had a fantastic start to the year so far. Everyone has been smartly dressed in their full school uniform and have all been telling their friends what a great time they had over the summer holidays.
We had an exciting start to our ‘Little Masterchef’ topic today by turning ourselves into chefs! We did some amazing portraits of ourselves wearing chef’s hats. We made the hats from rice and then used pasta to make a frame. The display in our classroom is going to look incredible! Photos to follow next week…
