During today’s music lesson, we created our own pieces of digital music. It was very exciting working without partnerts to produce a piece of music.
Friday 1st May – Colour Wheels
In today’s art lesson, we created colour wheel by mixing together primary colours.
30th April – ERIC in the sunshine!
29th April – Stretchiness of materials.
Today in science, we created and conducted an experiment to test the stretchiness of a range of materials (the elastic bands definitely stretched the most.)
28th April – Computing
During today’s computing lesson, Toucans experimented with rhythm. We experimented with creating a range of rhythms using different musical instruments.
24th April – D&T – Building Fire Engines
In today’s lesson, we were building fire engines. We used a range of skills such as: using a saw to cut through wood,using a glue gun to attach wheels to spokes, cutting and sticking to creating a moving ladder on top of our fire engine.
23rd April – Whole School ERIC.
22nd April – Science – Building Bridges
In today’s science lesson, we experimented by building bridges and seeing which material was the most suitable for overcoming out obstacle.
17th March – Computing/ Photos
During today’s computing lesson, we explored taking photographs landscape, portrait and we investigated how the amount of light affects a photo.
16th March – PSHE – Healthy Me
During today’s PSHE lesson, we discussed ways that we can have a healthy mind and how we relaxed. We also looked at ways we can recognise if someone is relaxed or not.
13th March – D&T – Market Research
As part of our D&T unit, we looked at different toys and asked our friends what they liked about them and what could make them even better. It was amazing to hear the children asking ltos of questions about the products that were available.
12th March – History detectives.
Today in history, we explored a range of sources to see what we could workout about the fire of London. We looked at a veriety of paintings, diary extracts, newspaper articles and books to investigate as much as we could.
10th March – Computing – Taking photographs
Today, we wre learning about taking photographs. We looked at how we can use both the rear and front facing camera to take photos of someone else or of ourselves. Take a look at some of our silly selfies!
6th March – West End in Schools Dance workshop
Today, Toucans took part in a dance workshop as part of a performance of Pinnocchio. The children showed excellent dance moves when practising and performing. Well done Toucans!
5th March – World Book Day 2026
Today to celebrate World Book Day, toucans took part in the BBC footy and booky quiz and a BBC teach live lesson. We also enjoyed spending the day in our pyjamas and having some extra reading time in class.
4th March – Science – Investigating how litter affects our local environment.
In today’s science lesson, we investigated how litter affects our environment. We will very surprised by how much litter we found around the school grounds.

Thank you to all of the parents who joined us this weekfor our book breakfast. The children all really enjoyed spending time in school to complete reading activities with their parents.
